CORONATION Street fans are truly on the warpath as they have made a huge demand to show bosses.
In recent weeks, fans have tuned into the long-running ITV serial drama to see Leanne become completely obsessed by a mysterious cult.
On Coronation Street, Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) is one of the leaders of the Altovalent ‘self improvement’ Institute.
Using various scheming tactics, he has managed to manipulate Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and put her under his spell.
He has lavished her with praise and in a sick twist, he presented state of the art technology to make an AI mannequin of her dead son Oliver.
Nick was also left horrified after Leanne replaced their Bistro suppliers with low-quality Institute approved alternatives.
Toyah has also been threatened with severe legal action as she continues to campaign against the creepy organisation.
The villain has also managed to make her become distant from both her fiance Nick (Ben Price) and also her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor).
As Nick and Toyah grapple with how to rescue their loved one, they turn to each other for comfort.
Passions came to the forefront as they ended up kissing on the couch as Nick ended up cheating on his fiance with her own sister.
But fans have been left enraged as they took to social medias in droves to slam the whole ‘far-fetched’ cult storyline which led to the bombshell affair.
One fan wrote: “I’m sorry but this story line with Leanne and the institute is really just crap. It’s awful.”
A second viewer stated: “#Corrie getting no better still. This stuff with the Institute is so predictable.”
“How boring and far-fetched is this Leanne and the institute storyline?”, angrily asked a third.
Whilst a fourth confused watcher reacted: “So are The Institute conmen or what’s going on can somebody explain please? #CoronationStreet 
.”
And a fifth fan added: “This Leanne storyline, what did she do in a past life to deserve such drivvle. Toyah, Nick & Leanne terrific actors completely wasted on this utter horrendous storyline.”
